Welcome!

Max has never done things by halves. Since the beginning of his musical journey, Max Smidt has been renowned for his live performances on the Sydney circuit.

He has spent the last ten years fine-tuning his song-writing craft, revealing himself through his emotional and intimate melodies and lyrics. Having established himself as an accomplished singer/songwriter, Max invites you to experience his latest offering: an eclectic mix of melodic acoustic rock and edgy arrangements.

His style is a little like being shown postcards of places you’ve never been to... but are strangely familiar. If you feel a bit voyeuristic then Max has achieved his goal of sharing with you the highs and lows of life's journey creatively set to music.

Having previously released his independently recorded album 'Music is the Mistress', Max steps it up a notch with a selection of new & re-recorded originals.

This is not the end of the journey but the first leg of a long road trip.

New Year's Eve

This catchy single gives a personal insight into Max's early relationships. Inspired by his own story that most of us can relate to; when two people can never get the timing right.

Devils Wings

In contrast is the darkness of 'Devils Wings', creatively produced with Brian Cachia & Syd Green of Iota and Dirty Lucy fame.

Real

A melodic Kravitz inspired arrangement that gives an insight into family relationships and the challenges they face in the real world.

Breathe

Max truly exposes his own emotions in this addictive track, revealing the anxiousness he has experienced throughout the melody itself.

Max has supported some of Australia’s finest talent – Diesel, James Reyne, Jenny Morris, Ian Moss, Abby Dobson, Jack Jones, Sarah McLeod, Mark Seymour & Dragon.
